About Us
The Department of Global Health is home to a diverse community of scholars who work on medical, social, economic, and political issues related to public health in a global context.
Established by Georgetown University in 2001 as the Department of International Health, the Department of Global Health has been a pioneer in developing an undergraduate degree program in global health. We are dedicated to enhancing institutional, organizational, and global community capacity-building in global health
Our Mission
The mission of the department is to combine intellectual pursuit with real-world impact and field experience to instill in our students a passion for acting as a catalyst for social justice and health equity in local and international communities through research and service.

The department has twelve full-time and many adjunct and affiliate faculty members. Expertise spans epidemiology, health systems, health policy and law, community health, maternal and child health, mental health, equity, social and commercial determinants and governance.
