Georgetown University School of Health 2024 Commencement Speaker: Toyin Ajayi, MD, MPhil

(May 6, 2024) — Dr. Toyin Ajayi is the CEO and co-founder of Cityblock Health, the first value-based comprehensive health care provider and technology platform that serves low-income Medicaid populations with complex needs. Prior to Cityblock Health, Ajayi served as chief medical officer of Commonwealth Care Alliance, a nationally renowned integrated health plan and care delivery system for individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. In this role, she led clinical operations, spearheaded care delivery innovations and oversaw multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, community health workers and administrators serving more than 20,000 beneficiaries across the state of Massachusetts.

Ajayi received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University; an MPhil from the University of Cambridge; and her medical degree, with Distinction in Clinical Practice, from King’s College London School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Boston Medical Center. Ajayi is a board-certified family physician and continues to practice primary care and hospital medicine focused on patients with chronic, complex and end-of-life needs.
