(October 14, 2025) Global Health major Zoe Van Zelm (H’29) joins Health Care Management & Policy major Ashley Jeong (H’26) and other Georgetown students in this year’s cast of Georgetown Storytellers, the students behind the video series “Georgetown Stories.” This series follows a group of students throughout the academic year at Georgetown as they show what life as a Hoya is about.

When reflecting on what being a Hoya means to them, Van Zelm shares that being a Hoya means examining the gap between who she is and who she wants to become. “Georgetown encourages me to acknowledge my present identity while simultaneously inviting me to explore unfamiliar spiritual, physical, intellectual and social aspects of not only Georgetown but the whole world,” said Van Zelm. “To be a Hoya is to embrace growth while valuing one’s own uniqueness.”

Jeong joins the cast of Georgetown Storytellers for her second year. “To me, being a Hoya means belonging to a community that’s both incredibly passionate and supportive, where people pursue their ambitions while always lifting others up,” said Jeong. “I’ve met the most intelligent, driven and kindhearted people here, who inspire me to grow and make the most of every opportunity Georgetown offers.”

You can follow the Georgetown Storytellers on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and the Student Life Blog as they highlight the Georgetown student experience and what it means to be a Hoya through experiences such as classes, events on campus, internships in D.C. and campus clubs.
