The Department of Global Health in the School of Health conducts research that seeks to promote health equity and improve the health of the population in our local community, across the nation, and around the world. The department takes seriously its commitment to community-based collaborations to minimize health disparities and advance health equity.

The Initiative for Health Economics, Financing and Outcomes (IHEFO) is a faculty-initiated research hub led by Drs. Vincent Turbat, Wu Zeng, and Sean Huang. The IHEFO is helping inform and shape domestic and global health systems’ research, policy and implementation from the economic perspective.
Dr. Matthew Kavanagh directs the Center for Global Health Policy & Politics between the Georgetown University School of Health and the O’Neill Institute. At the intersection of global health, law, and political science, the team supports the creation of legal and policy environments toward building more just and equitable global health responses.
Learn about the Center for Global Health Policy & PoliticsThe Global Mental Health & Well-being Initiative will pilot research, pedagogy, and informed activism and advocacy on psychiatric, mental health and psychosocial issues at home and abroad. The initiative will mobilize a coalition of faculty, staff and students into a collective to work on mental health and well-being in local and global mental health research and practice.
