Wu Zeng Selected for NASEM Committee on Reducing Health Disparities

(May 31, 2024) The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) tapped Wu Zeng, PhD, associate professor in the School of Health’s Global Health Department, to join an ad hoc committee to examine the relationship between innovation in developing novel therapies and unmet needs associated with US disease burden. The Closing Gaps Between Clinical Therapy Innovation and Unmet Population Health Needs committee will recommend strategies to spur and facilitate increased innovation to address unmet needs and reduce health disparities.

Zeng, a member of the School of Health’s Initiative for Health Economics, Financing and Outcomes, has more than 15 years of experience in conducting research on global health, disease burden, health care systems, health financing, and analyzing the cost-effectiveness of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions in low- and middle-income countries.
